What is Cell Line Authentication?

Cell line authentication is based on short tandem repeat (STR) profiling, a DNA fingerprinting method that compares genetic markers across multiple loci.

The resulting STR profile is matched against reference databases (e.g. Cellosaurus) to confirm identity or detect contamination.

Sample Requirements

  • 1–5 million cells (pellet)
  • Washed and resuspended in ethanol
  • Alternatively: ≥50 µl genomic DNA (≥50 ng/µl)

Samples can be shipped at room temperature.
